Here comes study week(s).

This is the amount of lecture notes which I have digest in these 2 weeks and vomit starting from 9th of November 2009.

The dreaded week is coming soon…

I have been wanting to post about this for quite some but I just couldn’t find the time.

Back in ACS during STPM days, my teachers and friends know very well that I have aimed to study Medicine. I was grateful to be accepted into UKM for Medicine. I am one step closer to achieving my dream, but of course, there is still a long way to go in reaching my aim.

After that, things seemed to happen so fast and I just went with the flow.

This picture was taken during the “Personal and Professional Development” Camp in Perak.

This was when I got to know some of my friends better.

My roommate, Kee Tat and I were thrown into a room with a huge hole in the ceiling.

We had to close it with 2 planks of wood. A lost cat somehow fell off through the hole and almost killed my roommate. Luckily, he wasn’t sleeping that time.

I have twice the amount of books now. And lecture notes are piling and piling.

I do not know how I did it. I managed to survive Semester 1 and 2. We have only one week of study leave to ingest the work of the entire semester, about 4 modules. The lecture notes for each module = half of the notes I have for Biology during STPM.

It was not easy. I had insomnia during the exam week in Semester 1. My roommate knew best how terrible it was for me. I was very stressed out and worried.

Semester 2 was better. I only had insomnia the night before the first paper. After that, I could sleep well throughout the rest of exam week.

Before I enter medical school, I thought the life there would be all about academics. It was only when I entered medical school that i realised that it is not that way. My extra-curricular life in UKM is mainly due to AMSA (Asian Medical Students’ Association)

I went to Sabah for a conference and had fun.

That was also when my phone went for a swim. After that I got a new phone! Hehe

We educated the public on how to use a condom properly.

Went for a community service in Muar and had a keluarga angkat, whom I still keep in touch.

Went to Taiwan and was stigmatized for having the risk of being infected with H1N1.

Met a lot of new friends from different countries.

Semester 3 is a bit crazy for me. I hope I will be able to survive the finals which is about 2 weeks from now.

As for girlfriend, she is the one I feel sorry for the most. Throughout the one and a half years, I have not given her enough attention. She was however, very understanding and has never complained. Being so far apart is not easy, but I’m sure we’ll manage.

I bought a series of handmade gifts from Taiwan but I couldn’t find the time to fix them. They are from Monkey Design Co. Ltd. They have other really really cool and cute designs too.

Now that Raya break is here and Girlfriend is back, I guess it’s best that I get it done.

Semester 3 seems tough for me, personally. I had to deal with a few assignments, tonnes of lecture notes and assessments. Sometimes, things seem so impossible to deal with but somehow, everything falls in place.

I guess, no matter how bad things turn out to be, I should put a smile on my face and relax.

After all, life’s good.

I just came back from a drink with Michelle and her friends. It was a really awesome and I have never had such a good chat with anybody for a long time. We talked about a lot of things, including life. Yeah, we are just 21 year-olds with so little experience but we are talking about it.

Our conversation made me take a step back and look at things differently.

I have been mugging medical books like crazy for the past one year plus. I have read on the various amazing processes and homeostasis which our body perform every single second that we live. But I failed to realize how amazing our body is. I wonder who the architect of such an amazing machine, with such little flaws, is. It is so amazing, but yet, we fail to appreciate the wonders of it.

Perhaps, we should take some time off our busy schedule, look at the things around us, our family, friends, loved ones, everything, and appreciate them. You’ll never know how much they mean to you, until it is too late.

I had problems with house phone line since a week ago but I couldn’t be bothered to call up TM to complain. I was thinking that it’ll take forever for them to fix it.

I came back home yesterday to find out that I couldn’t use Streamyx because my phone line has problem. So, I had no choice but to reluctantly called up TM. Lodged a report at about 8.30 pm and told them everything. Apparently someone will come to fix it within 2 days. Yea right.

I was wrong! The contractor of TM came at about 10 am today to fix my phone line. 10 minutes and everything is back to normal.

That’s a real eye-opener. Thumbs up for TM!

Girlfriend and I have pretty much nothing to do for this two-month break. And every time we didn’t have anything to do, we’ll go for a movie.

This shows how many movies we have watched.

And all this doesn’t come cheap. Spend more than RM 200, and that’s not inclusive of popcorn and coke.

Transformers 2 is the last movie for this holiday. Micheal Bay and team has done a great job in this movie. One of the best I have ever seen.

My car has moved through 11111 km of asphalt.

I have been wanting to post about my trip with girlfriend to Ipoh and Penang for the past few weeks but did not have the mood to do so. We pampered ourselves with the best food available in Ipoh and Penang.

In Penang, I had the pleasure of having Phoy Cheng, Khai Pin, Ying Yi and gang as my guides.
We ate the best Hokkien Mee in Penang. In Klang, hokkien mee is black but in Penang, it’s red.

And, bad news to me, it’s spicy, very spicy.

I’m well known for not being able to take spicy food, but this time, I ate the whole bowl! I’m improving, you see.

I have to talk about this. Phoy Cheng brought us to Gurney Drive to have our dinner. This girl walked away to a nearby stall and brought us this.

RM24 worth Pasembur. Crazy!
